Packers Mentor Hopfensperger Focuses on Synergy's Branding, Personal Approach

In last week’s column, Scotty Smith, owner of Synergy Sports Performance in Hobart, talked about his vision for his newly expanded business. As a participant in the Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé program this year, he was matched with Green Bay SCORE mentor Dick Hopfensperger.

Hopfensperger, who has decades of experience in management, logistics and marketing, was impressed by Smith’s passion and is looking forward to working with him.

 The dictionary describes the word fervid as being intensely enthusiastic or passionate, especially to an excessive degree. That is exactly the meaning that Renee DeGrand of Green Bay wanted to convey by naming the business she is developing Fervid Life.

DeGrand, a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, recently took first place in the 2018 Northeast Wisconsin Business Plan Contest. She will graduate in May with a degree in business administration with emphasis on management and entrepreneurship.

Humor, Hemp Help Grow Potty Mouth Sisters' Business

With a blend of holistic products and humor, two local sisters are building a business that is growing far beyond their expectations.

Debby and Julie Klarkowski of Green Bay started making natural soaps, and after receiving rave reviews from users, made a few hundred bars to sell. In setting up a business, they needed a name and packaging. That led them back to their childhood and the threat that bad language meant soap in the mouth.

Women's Business Roundtable Presents 'The Ecstatic Entrepreneur'

QuickBooks hands-on Learning

Juliana Ramirez and her support team provided a hands-on trainng session for QuickBooks. This 3 hour session provided specific guidance, from beginners wanting to set up book keeping, to advanced users needing assistance to customized reports. 

 

WWBIC Allows Kewaunee Salon Owner to 'Go For It'

Erin Burmeister, the owner of Sanctuary Salon in Kewaunee, had been in business for seven years when she heard the building where she leased was up for sale. 

“It was a unique situation,” Burmeister said. “I already had the business, but was afraid of what might happen if the building was sold to someone else. I just needed to figure out how to buy it.”

It's Swink's Business to Help Clients Build Theirs

“Where have you been all of my life?”

Melissa Swink, owner of Savvy CVA of Green Bay, says that is the most common phrase she hears from clients when they start working with her. 

The CVA stands for consultants and virtual assistants, and Swink, who is also social media specialist for the Green Bay SCORE chapter, says it is her business to help clients build their business.
